Creepy horor photos

This series evolved from my earlier mannequin photos and other series where I distorted faces. In this series  I messed with eyes and tried to create demonic/ horror photos. The end product turned out really scary and strange, yet interesting. I also used angles and the background to try and give the photos a scary feel to them. I was going for a sort of zombie like effect, and I think I found one.

mannequin series final

For this I took pictures and made them as creepy as possible for the first two pictures and slightly less creepy for the other photos. I increased the exposure and also used retouch to blot out the face to create an inanimate object looking person. These photos have almost a horror film feel to them. The lighting and the background add to the horror feel to them, and I tried to take pictures with shapes in the background to add to the complexity of the photos.

mannequin person

In this project I tried to take pictures and use lighting and editing so it looked like the person was a mannequin. I had this idea when I found out you could use contrast and exposure in iPhoto to obscure someones face and make them look less human and sort of alien and mannequin-like. This look interested me and so i made more of these pictures. I also changed random things about the picture in almost every picture, which adds to the surrealism. You can see them if you look closely. Where I want to go next with this is to do more surreal images of people that have an element of the fantastic in them.

Manneqin

This short series was the result of an accident in making faces black and white. I stumbled upon it and thought it was really creepy and that I should do more. My face looks like it has been melted off and it scares the hell out of me. I used extreme editing using a lot of stuff I hadn't combined before.

Op ART

For this project I made Op art in a hypnotic pattern. I tried to get as many pictures that were already in patterns as possible. I feel that when you take a picture an put in in this hypnotic form and its already in some sort of pattern it makes the resulting picture much more interesting. There are a lot of lines and maze like patterns to follow. I also used pictures that had extreme shapes and colors to try and get as many crazy results as possible.

Reid's Grid Photos

For these photographs I created grids of four photos and tried to make them "flow". I also tried to put together photos in a weird pattern or that relate to each other. There are many different photos and many different themes that are expressed. I tried to make these photos as interesting as possible by choosing funny photos to start with. I also added in the last grid some little tiny ghosts that, if you look hard enough you might just see.

Photo Collages

For this project, i tried to create interesting multi-frame photo collages, both diptych and triptych. I tried to create one photo, but comprised of multiple photos. As for subjects i tried to imitate real world realities as well as abstract, and of both inanimate objects and living ones. I used picnik to structure the my multi-frame photos and in some cases (like in the first photo) slightly alter the structure of the collage and its proportions to make them flow better visually. I attempted to create imitations of reality and use images of regular things in ways that changed how they were perceived.
