Rule of Thirds

For this series I used the rule of thirds to create panels in my photographs that divide the world into thirds and have a different type of spacial awareness when looking for photos to take. In this series of the rule of thirds I have mentally divided photos into three panels of different light values. In some of these cases I found instances where the panels were physically divided as well as having different characteristics to them. I have found this to be a challenging project so far, especially when applying the rule of thirds to photos without people in them.

  1. These photos are great. I especially like the ones with me in them. The photo with the pine street sign showcases the rule of thirds perfectly.

  2. Reid I really like these photos but in some i find it hard to see the rule of thirds present. Maybe because i get distracted by the back rounds , there is a lot going on in them.

  3. The one of Isaac in the corner is great! I like how there is depth added. The third one with the computer is a little confusing maybe you could explain your process with that one. The door one is creative because you split all three doors into thirds, instead of using one door and using an imaginary measuring, you used all three. It looks like you took this series very literally.
